Brand new setting UI with more features added make your life with Netvue simpler.
Device Wi-Fi analysis.
Has your camera experienced random log off and on? This is maybe because of the weak Wi-Fi signal strength. The camera depends heavily on the Wi-Fi connection. You may be wondering why the Wi-Fi in your phone is strong but the camera still not working optimally? The truth is that Wi-Fi signal strength may vary from different devices depending on their locations or other issues. With this new feature, you will know whether the Wi-Fi connected to your camera is strong or poor. If it is poor, try to move the device closer to the router or set a Wi-Fi extender. Analyze your Wi-Fi strength now to ensure it is working on a strong Wi-Fi environment.
‘Pin to top’ feature
The new feature allows you to pin the camera that you care most on top of your device list. Some customers may get a little confused about this feature. Actually, this is beneficial to customers who own more than 2 devices. In the older app version, you may have noticed that if you have multiple devices, when your camera goes offline or online, the sequence of device list will change. With this feature, you can pin those cameras now. No matter how many times your camera goes online of offline, the device list will not change.
‘Update firmware’ feature
When there is a new firmware version, the device will be automatically updated at 3 am. If you can’t wait to upgrade your device, you can also choose to update it manually. Just go to ‘Setting – Device information – Firmware update’. When the camera starts to update, you can exit the updating page or even the app which won’t affect the update process. But do remember that you are not allowed to have the live video view until the whole update accomplished. Normally, the update takes 5-10 minutes. If it takes more than that, try to restart the camera or contact our support team for help.
Advanced time zone setting
Some countries or cities use different Summer and Winter time which may cause time lag issues on your app. If you are in these districts, please do remember to sync device time zone with your phone time zone. We’ve also offered a manual time zone selection. Be sure to sync the time zone with your phone or select the right city time zone. Also, if your phone time system is in 24-hour system, the time display on your Netvue app will also be in 24-hour system.
Upcoming new features available in the latest firmware
‘Sleep mode’ feature and scheduled ‘sleep’ time setting
Let your cameras rest when you don’t need them to work. A camera is just like a pair of watchful eyes. When you are not home, it helps you watching the whole family. But when you’re home, you may not want to be stared at. Constantly turn on/off cameras is really annoying. Then, why not set your cameras to sleep? When in ‘Sleep mode’, your device will not record any images or videos. You cannot see live videos either. That is to say, your camera is on but not working. Please note that doorbells like Belle and Vuebell don’t support ‘Sleep mode’ feature.
It may be hard for you to have a regular sleep, but it’s easy for the camera. The ‘scheduled sleep time’ and ‘repeat’ setting will always let your camera have a regular sleep. But you have to decide when to send them to ‘sleep’. If you choose to ‘repeat everyday’, the camera goes sleep everyday at your scheduled time. Here is one thing that needed to be noticed, you can only schedule one ‘sleep time’. These will not only largely protect your privacy but also facilitate your life.
New added switches help you fully control your camera
‘Start up tone’ and ‘Status light’ switch. We’ve noticed many customers use the orb cam or home cam as a baby monitor or pet camera. When the internet goes off and on, the camera’s start up tone may scare the baby or pet. With the new feature, this will no longer be an issue.
The status light is of great importance to help identify the device status. But sometimes, it may affect the image or video quality if you put it against the window. Also, it may be a little bit shining in the dark environment. Now, you can turn off it so that you won’t be distracted by the status light in the dark environment. What’s more, the red status light could attract the attention of an intruder, if turned off, the presence of the camera is less obvious to them. We believe this will greatly make our cameras more user-friendly.
‘Night vision’ switch – ‘Always day’ or Always night? All on you. You may want to see colorful images in the night. Then turn on ‘always day’. You’ll always see colorful images. Also, when the images or live video quality are not so satisfying because of the surroundings, you can adjust it to black and white or colorful.
Multiple motion time setting – customize your personal life
Delivering notifications is one of the important features that home security camera should be equipped with. Our aims are to deliver smart notifications. There must be some time that you don’t want to be notified. How to solve this problem? Normally, turn off the motion alerts will be the first choice. But what if you forget to turn on it and missed the important moments. Don’t worry, we just made the alerts smarter.
You can set up to 5 different ‘Motion time’ now and ‘Repeat’ the motion time (like ‘Repeat Every Tuesday From 2:00 to 22:00’). This means you can customize more than one motion time according to your personal needs. If you want to schedule the motion time overnight, just set the ‘End time’ smaller than ‘End time’, then you’ll see the ‘End time’ becomes ‘Next day’. If you set the ‘Start time’ smaller than the ‘End time’, the motion time range is within a day. You can also choose to ‘repeat’ on weekdays or weekends or some specific days. Just like your alarm. So you don’t have to worry about turning on/off motion alerts when you just forget about doing so. Reduce those unwanted motion alerts. Notifies less but more matters.
Besides above updates, we’ve also made some improvements on cloud service. The new Netvue app now supports ‘Auto-renew’ feature of cloud service. So you don’t have to manually renew the cloud service when it is expired.
By the way, we have prepared some surprises for you in the new Netvue app. Have you noticed that?
We are still on the way to get better. We can’t go further without your support. Don’t hesitate to share with us your opinions about the update and what you want us to add or improve in the next update. We are taking your suggestions!
