RTSP/URL/ONVIF - binding to local home automation
+1 on this.
I have a centralized, off the grid sort of automation and I was unable to connect to the camera if not with the software it provides.
It will be really good to provide either a closed API (like OP is mentioning) or a developer account that should be enabled by the user like many other smart home appliances do.
I would like to integrate the stream into my local home automation. But no URL (ip: port ...), user / password, rtsp url or onvif url found in the documentation.
This is now standard on many IP cameras.
Is there a way to provide this?
I'd like to add my support to this suggestion.
My ageing TP-Link IP camera (TL-SC3130) has had this facility for many years!
+1 this is a much needed feature, especially as there is no support for a PC program and only support through the NetVue app. What if your internet goes down? Without internal network access, the cameras are useless for live feed. As more security systems are becoming cloud connected, criminals are getting smart (have been for some time), and they cut the home internet, disabling these type of cameras for live view. Doesn't sound as secure any more, does it?
