Tips on Working at Home
The fast-spreading Coronavirus has got more and more people working at home.
This new way of working divides people into two kinds: For most working from home sounds like a dream – hours saved on the commute, no transport costs and the chance to whip up lunch in your own kitchen. But for those inexperienced, it could be a minefield of distractions – from dirty dishes and piles of laundry to noisy neighbours and cats on keyboards.
Read the following tips we’ve prepared for you, you will need it sooner or later.
Separate working space from living space
It has never been a good idea to work in your living room. Create a dedicated workplace and keep it clear of clutter. That would remind you that you are working now.
Get dressed up
It creates a sense of structure and helps us to set boundaries in our day-to-day. It also gives us a sense of time. However sitting in your PJs in bed with your laptop will not.
Set hours and stick to them
Be strict with yourself. Set the start of your day and end of your day at very specific times, and adhere to those times. It’s not just about making sure you work a certain number of hours–it’s about maximizing the time you do have.
Take a break
Just like any working environment, giving yourself breaks is incredibly important to let your brain and body relax.
Exercise offers so many important benefits that it should always be part of your daily routine.
Daily physical activity reduces stress and can help you sleep better – two things that are especially beneficial to busy at-home workers.
